History
The need of civil and military survey utility in Indonesia is becoming more important than ever. Robotics and aerodynamics researches from educational institutional, e.g. Institute of Technology Bandung, have been successfully transformed the country into one among limited developed countries that capable of producing aircraft without crew or commonly known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). UAV is a special aircraft that designed to be able to operate autonomously. PT. Robo Aero Indonesia is the first local company that introduced the advancement to the world market. The applications of UAV are adjustable based on customers needs industries and organizations such as to observe forest destruction, traffics, security procedure, etc.
Idea
Application of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle both in civil and military survey is definitely required by government, even private sectors. UAV survey cost is less expensive compared to survey conducted by common aircraft usage. This is also in line with the low risk usage offered by the tools, especially when used to capture image in conflicts area with low flight altitude (about 250m from the ground) and required to deliver high quality image (up to 1 : 1000 scale). The features enable the plane to be used in broad range of field condition with 3 people assigned in operator unit.
